What the work rewards
Curiosity
Investment work starts with questions, not answers. The people who do it well keep asking what they do not yet understand — why a number moved, what a document leaves out, what would have to be true for the consensus view to be wrong. Curiosity here is not a personality type we screen for; it is the habit the work constantly demands, because the market rarely announces in advance which detail will matter.
Rigour
Rigour is the discipline of following a question to an answer you did not want, and then acting on it. It means checking the source rather than the summary, separating what is known from what is assumed, and being willing to discard a favourite idea when the evidence turns. A culture that values being right above looking right is one in which this is safe to do.
Integrity
Clients rely on our account of what we do, and most of that account cannot be independently checked by them. That makes integrity structural rather than merely personal: it is easier to be honest in a firm that expects mistakes to be surfaced than in one that punishes them, and we try to be the first kind.
Collaboration
No one covers every market or sees every risk. Collaboration means treating a colleague's challenge as a contribution rather than an attack, and sharing work early enough for the challenge to be useful. The aim is not consensus — it is to make sure an idea has been examined by more than the person who likes it.
How we hire
A hiring process says something about the firm, so we try to make ours a fair preview of the work. It tends to begin with a conversation about what you have done and how you think about it, rather than a test of what you can recall. From there, the discussion moves to a real problem or a piece of analysis, because the most useful signal is how someone reasons when the answer is not already known. Candidates meet several of the people they would work with, so that the assessment runs in both directions, and we aim to decide promptly rather than leave people waiting. We do not run a script designed to unsettle anyone; the job is demanding enough without the interview adding to it.
Open roles
We are not currently advertising any open roles. When a position opens, it will be listed here along with what the role involves and how the process works, so that anyone interested can judge the fit before applying.
